As the holiday season unfolds, I find myself filled with a mix of emotions—joy, nostalgia, and immense gratitude.
Christmas has always been a special time of year for me, but this year feels even more meaningful.
Celebrating Christmas in Sarawak
This year is especially exciting because I’ll be spending Christmas back home in Sarawak with my loved ones. There’s something so comforting about returning to familiar surroundings, where the warmth of family and tradition fill the air. From the joyful chaos of family gatherings to the smells of traditional Christmas dishes cooking in the kitchen, this is the kind of holiday magic that I treasure most.
Being home for Christmas reminds me of the importance of family. It's not about the gifts or grand celebrations but about being present, sharing laughter, and creating memories that last a lifetime.
Reflecting on 2024: The Year That Was
As I sit by the Christmas tree, twinkling lights and all, it’s impossible not to reflect on the year that has passed. 2024 was a year of growth and learning for me. It was filled with its fair share of ups and downs, but each challenge brought with it a valuable lesson.
I’ve learned the power of resilience and patience, especially in balancing family and work. Watching my son grow this year—especially seeing him learn how to write—was one of my proudest moments. Christmas is a time to be thankful for the blessings in our lives, and my family continues to be my greatest source of happiness.
The Joy of Christmas Traditions
Christmas, to me, is all about the little traditions that make this time of year so magical. Whether it’s decorating the tree with ornaments, eating and gathering with family eating traditional food and attending Christmas services, these moments fill my heart with so much warmth.
This year, I’m especially excited to introduce my son to some of the Christmas traditions I grew up with in Sarawak. Sharing these traditions with him makes the holiday season even more special, as I get to see Christmas through his eyes—full of wonder and excitement.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As 2024 comes to a close, I can’t help but feel excited for what 2025 holds. The Christmas season is a perfect time to reflect on where we’ve been and to dream about where we’re going. I have big hopes for the new year, both personally and professionally, and I look forward to embracing new adventures, learning new lessons, and making the most of every moment.
